Why learn piano?
Learning to play the piano offers many benefits to students. Playing the piano teaches coordination of the senses - the auditory, the visual, and the physical. Beyond developing sensitivity to music and greater emotional intelligence, playing the piano teaches students organization and work ethic. Students learn how to establish a daily practice routine in order to achieve mastery of their pieces as well as other long-term goals. They learn to identify problematic passagework and develop solutions to overcome challenges. While not all students may aspire to become professionals, they will acquire many skills to supplement their education at school, and the greatest gift of all, the appreciation of music.
